Bahia is the cradle of Afro-Brazilian culture. Its percussion groups are as celebrated and revered as football teams. Capoeira has become a true national sport and a symbol of Bahia. With this atmosphere, Salvador is the perfect place to dive into the world of capoeira and percussion.

About the Tour

Departure from the hotel towards Forte da Capoeira. Chance to visit the museum! Afterwards, arrival at the Capoeira training room. Meeting with the Capoeira master and beginning of the class. Capoeira is rhythmically accompanied by a one-string instrument called the berimbau. This fight-dance was developed by African slaves and is now mainly practiced as a martial art. After the morning class, lunch. Then, introduction to 7 different instruments, all considered regional but of African origin. After the course, return to the hotel.
