About the Tour
Guided visit to some of the most important tourist attractions in Salvador, mainly in the Pelourinho, with its colonial atmosphere – a true dive into the heart of the country’s history. This visit is a must. The Historic Center is a unique architectural ensemble in the Americas, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Along the way, a stop at Farol da Barra offers a panoramic view of the entrance to Todos os Santos Bay. This lighthouse was built on the foundations of a 16th-century Portuguese fort. Arrival at the historic part via Praça Tomé de Souza. From a belvedere, it is possible to observe the Lower City and the port, Mercado Modelo, and the Elevador Lacerda, which connects the two parts of the city. From this point, the rest of the visit is done on foot. Crossing Praça do Terreiro de Jesus, surrounded by houses with colonial facades. Visit to the Igreja de São Francisco (1713), in Portuguese Baroque style and the most sumptuous church in Brazil. This church is part of a complex, which also includes a convent with cloister and the Igreja da Ordem Terceira de São Francisco.
