About the Tour
A spiritual heritage from Africa, Candomblé is one of the most fascinating aspects of Brazilian religiosity. This animist belief, sometimes related to voodoo, is a world of colors, rhythms, sensations, and mysteries. This evening at an authentic Candomblé terreiro offers the opportunity to witness a ceremony and experience a deep, popular, and unusual side of Brazil.
Departure from the hotel towards the North Coast (45 min). Arrival at the terreiro and meeting with the Pai de Santo (spiritual leader). Visit to the terreiro, located in the heart of nature and full of sacred plants and trees, and to the barracão, the large house reserved for ceremonies. In the barracão, a festival begins dedicated to one of the Candomblé deities, with participants parading and dancing to the rhythm of atabaques and invocation chants. Dinner served: buffet of different sacred Candomblé dishes, mainly prepared with dendê oil. These dishes, originally from Candomblé, were assimilated into popular culture and have become classics of Bahian cuisine. Continuation of the ceremony with the entry of the deities, their dances, and reverences.
