About the Tour

The Maraú Peninsula is one of the best-preserved areas of the Bahia coast due to its difficult access by land. Located between the Camamu Bay (the third largest in Brazil) and the Atlantic Ocean, it features endless beaches, lagoons, and natural pools ideal for snorkeling.


Day 1 – Salvador / Maraú Peninsula (148 km)

Option by Regular Bus: In the morning, cross the Bay of All Saints by ferry (50 min). Continue by regular bus (4h30), passing through Itaparica Island and the city of Valença. Arrival in Camamu late in the morning. Board a speedboat and navigate (30 min) through Camamu Bay, extensive and filled with mangroves and small islands.


Option by Air (departures on Mondays and Wednesdays): Early afternoon (1:00 PM), transfer to Salvador Airport and board the flight to Barra Grande, departing at 3:10 PM (50 min flight).


Upon arrival at Barra Grande village, free time for lunch (at own expense). The local guide can suggest good restaurant options. Transfer by 4x4 vehicle to Taipu de Fora Beach (30 min drive). Check-in at the pousada. Late afternoon free to enjoy the beaches and natural pools. Dinner at own expense.


Day 2 – Maraú Peninsula / HD Panoramic Tour

Departure (according to tide schedule) by vehicle for a panoramic tour of the peninsula’s main natural sites. Walk the trails to Saquaíra and its deserted beaches. Climb the hills of Bela Vista and Morro do Farol for breathtaking views and stops at lagoons: Lagoa de Cassange and Lagoa Azul. Return to the pousada early afternoon. Late afternoon free. Meals at own expense.


Day 3 – Maraú Peninsula / HD Boat Tour

A day on board a motorboat exploring the islands of Camamu Bay. Seafood lunch on Sapinho Island. Mid-afternoon, return to the pousada. Late afternoon free. Dinner at own expense.


Day 4 – Maraú Peninsula / Salvador

Morning free for relaxation or swimming. Lunch at own expense. Early afternoon return according to the chosen option: regular flight (50 min) or departure to Barra Grande and return by boat to Camamu. Continue by road to Itaparica Island by bus or private car (approximately 2 hours). Cross the Bay of All Saints (50 min from Itaparica Island) to Salvador. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel or airport.
